About these terms
These terms apply when you use the Technosavvy website, book support from us, or subscribe to one of our support plans. By using our services you agree to them.
The service we provide
We diagnose and fix technology problems, and build and support digital systems. We'll always tell you what we think is wrong and what it will cost before we do chargeable work.
Some problems can't be fixed — hardware fails, data is sometimes unrecoverable, and third-party services sometimes break in ways nobody can work around. We'll tell you honestly when that's the case. Diagnostic time may still be chargeable even where a fix isn't possible, and we'll say so up front.
Support plans
Support plans are billed in advance for the period shown on your plan. What's included is listed on the plan itself. Anything outside that is quoted separately at your plan's discounted rate.
Plans renew automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account, and you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
Payment
Card payments are taken by our payment provider. Bank transfers and pay-to-email payments are activated once we've confirmed the money has arrived, usually within one business day. Your plan doesn't start until payment is received.
If a payment fails or is reversed, we may suspend your plan until it's sorted out.
Your responsibilities
- Give us accurate information about the problem. We can only work with what we're told.
- Back up your data before we work on your device. We take care, but you are responsible for your own backups.
- Have the right to authorise work on the equipment and accounts you ask us to work on.
- Keep your account password to yourself.
Liability
We take reasonable care in everything we do. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service the claim relates to.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 where you're a consumer. Where you engage us for business purposes, the Consumer Guarantees Act does not apply.
Changes
We may update these terms. If we make a material change we'll tell subscribers by email. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction.
