Who we are
Technosavvy provides IT support and related technology services in New Zealand. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect
- When you contact us. Your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and whatever you tell us about your problem.
- When you create an account. Your name, email address, and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password itself.
- When you subscribe to a plan. Your plan, payment status, and a payment reference. If you pay by card, your card details go directly to our payment provider — they never touch our servers. If you pay by bank transfer, we see only what appears on our bank statement.
- When you use the site. Basic technical information such as your IP address and browser type, recorded by our web server.
Why we collect it
To answer your enquiry, deliver the support you've asked for, manage your subscription and payments, keep records we're required to keep, and improve the service. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only where it's necessary to run the service: our payment provider, our hosting provider, and anyone we're legally required to disclose to. We don't share your details with anyone else without your permission.
How long we keep it
Account and payment records are kept for at least seven years, as required for tax purposes. Contact form submissions are kept while they're useful for supporting you, and deleted when they're not.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it's wrong, and ask us to delete it where we're not required to keep it. Email us and we'll respond within 20 working days.
Security
We use encrypted connections, hash all passwords, and restrict access to customer records. No system is perfectly secure, but if something goes wrong that affects you, we'll tell you.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, contact us first. If we can't resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
